Enter the current balance, APR and required minimum payment for every debt in the plan.
Minimum payments continue while available extra money goes to the highest-rate active balance.
When one balance reaches zero, the same payoff budget can attack the next highest-interest debt.
HOW IT WORKS
The avalanche method ranks active debts by APR. PRAVIAX models monthly interest, keeps minimum payments going and directs the remaining payoff budget toward the highest interest rate.
Monthly interest = balance × APR ÷ 12Priority = highest active APRStore Card — $1,200 at 24%
Credit Card — $5,000 at 18%
Personal Loan — $10,000 at 11%
The 24% Store Card receives the extra payment first. When it is cleared, the payoff budget moves to the 18% Credit Card.
DEBT WORKFLOW
Use the Debt Snowball Calculator to prioritize quick balance milestones rather than APR.
FAQ
It prioritizes the highest APR debt while required minimum payments continue on the other active debts.
The payoff budget that is no longer needed for that balance can be redirected toward the next highest-APR debt.
This PRAVIAX calculator supports up to ten debts in one avalanche plan.
Avalanche prioritizes APR while snowball prioritizes balance size. The resulting payoff order and interest cost can therefore differ.
